Top Politicians Dump APC, PDP For Labour Party, NNPP

Top politicians including two senators have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Labour Party (LP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)
On Wednesday, June 22, Senator Francis Onyewusi (PDP Imo East) defected to Labour Party (LP), while his counterpart in Bauchi, Haliru Dauda Jika (APC Bauchi Central) defected to the NNPP.
Their letters of defection were read on the floor by the Senate President. The defected Senators cited injustice and inequity in their former political parties that made them fail the primary elections.
