Former Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassa, has passed on.
The death of the woman popularly known as Mama Taraba was confirmed by her former media aide.
He said the former minister died at a Cairo hospital on Friday, May 7.
Recall that Alhassan contested the Taraba 2015 governorship election under the Platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), but lost to incumbent Governor Darius Ishaku, who contested on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
She was subsequently named the minister of Women Affairs by President Muhammadu Buhari.
In 2019 when APC failed to clear her for the 2019 gubernatorial election, she defected to the United Democratic Party (UDP).
