For a lot of music lovers and fans of Azeez Fashola popular as Naira Marley, his trial at the Federal High Court in Lagos was simply adjourned till December 11. However, the reason why it was adjourned remains unknown.
www.theoctopusnews.com can reveal to you that a heated argument between the lawyer for Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Rotimi Oyedepo and Naira Marley’s counsel, Olalekan Ojo, (SAN), over limited space in the court led to the adjournment of the trial.
Available information reveals that at the resumption of the trial on Thursday, October 24, both lawyers, and two other senior lawyers started arguing over the space in the court, as the judge settled in to hear the case.
The presiding judge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo, however, took control of the courtroom and appealed to the lawyers to bear with the government over inadequate space in the courtroom.
Having taken control of the court, he immediately adjourned the case until Wednesday, December 11 for further hearing.
