Sunday, July 28 was supposed to be a day of glory for Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State.

Indeed, it was as Abiodun had the pleasure of delivering a speech to students of Babcock University, in Ilisan, Ogun State, as the school celebrated its 22nd undergraduate and 13th postgraduate convocation ceremony.

However, the governor who had gotten the nod of the students by encouraging them to go and make the best of their lives saw the other side of the students and indeed guests in attendance at the event when he urged them not to join the planned nationwide protest.

Governor Abiodun’s statement that cutting off the head is not the solution to headache seemed to have angered the students the more as they took to booing him, while he continued with his speech.

Some guests at the event asserted that the fact that the governor’s children are not in the country, coupled with the fact that he lives in a government property has made him lose touch of the economic reality in the country.
