The death of His Royal Majesty, Prof. Paul Oghenero Okumagba Idama 11, the Orosuen of Okere Urhobo Warri kingdom has been confirmed.
His death was confirmed at a Press Conference addressed by the Otota of Okere Urhobo kingdom, Chief (Dr) Wilson Eboh (JP) on Friday July 26, at the palace of the Orosuen.
Confirming the death of the Orosuen, Chief Eboh said: “Today in the history of the entire people of Okere Urhobo kingdom, Warri is a black day. An Iroko tree has travelled. A great and brilliant academic don, an educationist, a down to earth disciplinarian per excellence, a lover of peace, a patriotic man, a man who touched the lives of many people as a university lecturer both within Delta State, Urhobo Nation, Nigeria and beyond, a distinguished professor of Sociology is presently on a journey.”
The late King was selected and appointed by the statutory kingmakers of Okere Urhobo Kingdom on Sunday 22nd October, 2017, but was finally installed and crowned as Idama II, the Orusuen of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, warri on Thursday 26th October, 2017.
Before his coronation, the Orosuen distinguished professor of sociology at the Delta State university, Abraka, Delta State.
