The popular saying that “You cant eat your cake and have it” does not apply to Kemi Adeosun.
Adeosun, who was once a commissioner of finance in Ogun state has returned to the same title alongside five other commissioners who worked with Senator Ibikunle Amosun during his first term in office.
The onetime commissioner of finance under governor Amosun has an oppurtunity for two appointments. Having been picked for an appointment as commissioner in the administration of Amosun, Adeosun has also been lined up for a ministerial appointment in the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, reactions have been trailing her nominations, as those in the politics of Ogun State are asking if she is the only elite in Ogun state or if her relationship with the governor is what is opening doors for her.
Interestingly, Adeosun’s critics are not limited to politicians, as The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to rethink his nomination of Adeosun, as a minister in his government.
CACOL, in a petition signed by its head, Debo Adeniran, said Mrs. Adeosun was currently enveloped in various controversies including financial impropriety as commissioner, as well as citizenship status.
Aside that, Adeosun is also been accused of betray, as there are talks that to the detriment of her close friend and confidant, Wale Edun she manipulated against party leadership to get the ministerial nomination.
It is an open secret that the Edun had always been the preferred candidate for the position by All Progressives Congress (APC), leader, Bola Tinubu.
