Who Will Save Abdulrasheed Maina?
It might take a week, a month, a year, sometimes years, but the chicken eventually comes home to roost.
This is indeed a fact, as Abdulrasheed Maina’s proverbial chicken appears to have come home to roost.
Once the chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, he fell from glory when he was alleged of a pension fraud running into over N100 billion.
Taking to his heels following the outcome of an investigation by the Senate Joint Committee on Public Service Establishment, and a warrant for his arrest, Maina returned to the country in 2017 and was reinstated to the Civil Service as a director in the ministry of interior.
However, his reinstatement was cut short following a presidential order for his dismissal and an investigation of his tenure in office.
Judgment day, however, drew nearer for Maina recently when he was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) in a collaborative effort with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Arrested along with his son, Faisal, there is definitely no hiding place for the man now.
