President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on Social Media matters, Lauretta Onochie, has confirmed the arrest of the 2019 Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) Omoyele Sowore by the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to Onochie, the DSS saved Omoyele Sowore from setting himself ablaze.
Tweeting the picture of a man on fire, the presidential aide said that was what the DSS saved Sowore from.
Defending the actions of the DSS, Onochie said that it’s in order for the security operatives, whose role it is to safeguard both lives and properties, to take Sowore into custody to prevent him from harming himself and get him the help he needs.
According to her, the action of the DSS has saved him from setting himself ablaze.
Operatives of the DSS stormed Sowore’s Lagos home in the early hours of Saturday August 3, in what many saw as an attempt to frustrate a scheduled protest slatted for Monday, August 5.
