‘Gbona’ singer, Burna Boy has explained why he wasn’t around to pick his BET award.
The singer had been nominated for BET Best International Act Award, but failed to surface to pick his plaque when declared winner only for his mother Bose Ogulu to do the job.
Explaining what happened on Instagram, the 27-year-old artiste said he went to get a drink, hence his mum picked up the award on his behalf.
“Funny enough I went to Get a drink! I would have collected this one,” he wrote.
This is not the first time that Burna Boy’s award would be picked by his mother. In early 2019, she received a five star ovation from guests at the MVP SoundCity Awards as she stepped out to pick up Burna Boy’s award for Artiste of the Year category.
According to her, the artiste was out of the country and had personally to her to be at the event to pick the award.
