An explanation has been given by the police as to why it stopped an anti-Tinubu protest in Lagos State.
Explaining why the group identified as Orange Movement had to be stopped, a source revealed that the activists didn’t seek permission before carrying out the protest.
Orange movement had decided to stage the rally to appeal to residents of the state to come out enmass to vote against the Bola Tinubu candidate in the March 9th governorship election. The group argued that a vote for the governorship candidate of Bola Tinubu, is an extension of his ”rule” in Lagos state.
Tinubu, a former governor of the state, is in support of APC governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The group had gathered in front of the Airport Hotel, Ikeja early this morning, to kick off their protest march. They had adopted “O to Ge” chant meaning “Enough is Enough”, which was used to uproot the political structure of Senate President Bukola Saraki in Kwara state during the election.
They were however stopped by armed policemen who said that the group did not seek permission before embarking on the protest march.
