The ruling All Progressive Party (APC), is set to ensure that popular party stalwarts don’t leave the party for another.
To this end, it has set up a reconciliation committee to resolve issues among party members. A recent poll revealed the state of things in the party necessitating the move to curb defections.
You may recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had assured its former members who may wish to return to the party that there is enough room for them.
This has thus seen the ruling APC making frantic effort to stop the Senate President Bukola Saraki, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, and their loyalists from decamping to the PDP.
A report has it that the rumoured defection of the party bigwigs necessitated the setting up of the APC reconciliation committee by President Buhari headed by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the party and former governor of Lagos state.
